personally I'm against closing up those discussions.
but, every time this has been discussed in irc, you get people (i.e.
Kristian (this isn't an attack on you Kristian)), who complain about
having this discussion in the open.
also, because it was out in the public, will fell back on this
http://forum.compiz-fusion.org/showpost.php?p=42512&postcount=3 and
Kristian admitted that he didn't join in on the conversation or even
read it, because it was in the public part of the forum, instead of
the mod section.
In irc, I have also seen people complain because only the thoughts of
a few have been expressed and that makes the decision reached less
valid in their eyes.
there has just been a general bad view on the way we handled the last
set of discussions (that led to a majority of a 14 page thread
discussing a single idea for organising the support forum
(categorising by sympton), that was shot down anyway at the end by
people who joined the conversation without reading what had already
been discussed.
so, to make these people happy, and encourage them to actually join in
the discussion.
as I said, I don't agree with it, it cuts out other people from
discussing this with us, as we come to the decision ourselves, but I'm
tired of these complaints that shouldn't exist.
(btw, this isn't an attack on anyone, or their views, just an explanation)
