Yup - that was kind of my plan :) ... But it is not just meant to be a
replacement of the compiz-website, it is a fusion of the compiz and
beryl websites. E.g. the plum-colored forum is intended to be a visual
merge between "compiz blue" and "beryl red", the orange-color for the
plugins-area stands for "fusion", the white on black theme as such is a
tribute to the old beryl site ... (so I try to make everyone happy :D)

Maybe we shouldn't draw any lines at all, but instead offer one combined
community website with all features from compiz and beryl and their
websites.

I think it may be exactly the other way round. If we have a separated
"fusion"-part then people could start referring to their desktop as
"fusion" instead of "compiz fusion".

I personally think the core should be seen as David's contribution to
the community and I (still) can see no real benefit in separating core
and extras too much, at least for the user.

To me the goal of the re-unificiation should be (i.e. was?) to finally
get the two (closely dependent) parts together into one complete
project.

Of course I will accept David's decision on this, whatever that may be.
But as far as I remember he wanted to have one community for all (and
that's all I want, too).

(btw: I have made a wiki-skin out of my design idea. It looks pretty
cool and could perfectly replace the current compiz-theme as soon as we
have a matching VB-style. I can upload it somewhere if anyone is
interested in having a look ...)

(Maybe we should start a thread on the admin-list about your concerns. I
guess it would be the appropriate place for discussing it.)
