Summary: OpenGL window clipping bug on ATI cards
           Product: Compiz Fusion
           Version: git HEAD
          Platform: PC
               URL: http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showpost.php?p=937143&post
                    count=283
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P3
         Component: -Unknown
        AssignedTo: dev at lists.compiz-fusion.org
        ReportedBy: compiz at matbooth.co.uk

I've installed the latest compiz-fusion on two Fedora 8 machines, one with an
nVidia Geforce FX card and one with an ATI Mobility Radeon HD card. Both using
the binary drivers supplied by the Livna repository.

I installed compiz-fusion using the packages very kindly supplied by
leigh123 at linux of the FedoraForum community using the instructions in the first
post of this thread:

http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=171130

The problem occurs when a window overlaps an OpenGL window when compiz is the
window manager with an ATI card. The OpenGL canvas don't seem to be clipped
correctly by windows higher up the Z axis. It is easier to see what's happening
in screenshots.

The first attachment shows compiz-fusion working correctly on an nVidia
machine.

The second attachment shows compiz-fusion exhibiting the clipping problem on an
ATI machine. The problem disappears when the window manager is switched back to
metacity.
