I was using AIGLX, and still am, it is not longer an issue though.

I have a new bug in it's place though, new windows open up with the window
decoration outside of the screen boundary on the top/left side of the screen. 
not quite as frustrating as the old bug =P, but still a nuisance ;-)

I actually forgot about this bug report, since no one else Confirmed it, it may
as well be labeled as solved.
