I imagine that more software developers should care about const-correctness. It
seems that developers for drivers and operating systems are used to this design
detail.

The requirement that a patch needs to be signed-off by well-known persons is
not mentioned in the referenced wiki article. I want to be sure that patches on
this design aspect will be accepted.
