Or the old bug report for that matter.

Keep in mind that while we welcome patches, no-one will go over and verify a 2k
long patch from an unknown unless it is signed off by some-one. Therefor, your
best bet is discussing this on the mailing list, and taking it one step at a
time. Though, which you should have discovered by now, most people simply don't
care.
