It should just take few hours in an entire month looking at new
developers creations and recognizing contributions in other areas of
our community. Of course what developers do with their time is
entirely up to them, community cannot force them how they spend it.
Some devs might even enjoy the process and may help them take their
own development effort a notch up.

I consider it a good thing as there is much more organized peer review
and involvement in other community matters. Compiz Fusion is not just
sitting in a basement and coding all day long ;)

I am sure it would waste lot less time than reading our mailing lists.
My post is not for discussions about merits/demerits of having an
award, neither is this list right for it. So if anyone has any issues
with it please feel free to address it in a respective forum.

The post is for the benefit of contributors and developers who were
not present at the time we thought this idea up.

Have a lot of fun!
