Here's an idea I just got while I was sitting behind an HDMI screen.  The video
is not set right and when I scroll through the square box of the menu item
highlight flickers.  Looking closly I see the box move to the correct position
then move down 1px and then back to the correct position.

This gives the impression of a rubbery bounce effect when moving from one menu
item to another.  Although my current setup does this because of a
misconfiguration, doing this on purpose at specifice instances would yield a
cool effect.
