I can't reproduce this. 

What is causing this is a bad window id returned by checking
_WIN_SUPPORTING_WM_CHECK, which is something Compiz does not set at all.

This suggests that the issue is in fact somewhere else.

Can you return xprop -root | grep SUPPORTING_WM_CHECK?

Also, what have you done to your system since install? This sounds somewhat
like something, I don't know what (xfce ?) sets the atom but doesn't follow
up...

Have you tried to buddy your bug on the forum? Input from multiple users would
be a great help here.
