Hi,

first, Sam (and all others doing top quoting), can you _please_,
_please_ quote properly (no top quoting) and cut off text you don't
quote? It really helps reading your mails. Thanks.

If plugins don't properly release screengrabs, they are essentially
completely broken and shouldn't be shipped at all.
Also, how would you want to detect them? You can't have a look in other
plugins variables (to see if there is a screengrab no plugin keeps track
of), so this is just not possible.
Also how is this related to Patrick's question?

Fix your drivers? Compiz can't work around problems in the
infrastructure it uses (read: X and driver problems). The only case
Compiz could cause a quasi lockup of the server is an infinite loop, but
it's very hard to detect that in a non-kludgy way.
But again, how is that related to Patrick's question?
