Actually we shouldn't focus on the fact that it'd be a team or
anything else but on how to actually do it. Who cares about who does
the work, seriously ?
We really need to improve the way we are doing release announcements and such.
Currently announcements are somehow prepared a few hours before the
actual release, and that sucks. What would be really cool is to begin
preparing that announcements one week before the planned release date
with a list of things that will have to be mentioned in the
announcement, written by the developers. People with good writing
skills & style would then pick this list up and work together on a
proposal announcement making a styligh and elegant announcement from
this rough list. This announcement should be ready D-3 before the
release to get reviewed by the devs. I think that such a process would
ensure having things get done correctly.
Please excuse me if I missed other aspects of a "Press" team, but
release announcements are the only thing which actually matters for
devs.
Regards,
Guillaume
