As a usual Beryl user I am wondering what happened to beryl. Why was it
killed? If its not dead why hasn't there been a new release?

Actually I know that it merged but many of my friends that got into linux
just because they loved beryl are asking me the same thing.
I feel kind of sad that after many maany months there is no compiz-fusion
site up and running or at least a good place where users can find and
download the latest.
I thought the reason for the merger was to have a better product, but whats
the point if in the process you end up loosing your user base and make linux
to the typical user look as an unstable environment where anything can
happen to really good projects at any time. I think beryl had alot of steam
and backing behind it and it seems that it has just grinded to a halt. Even
if there is progress being done.. the users are not seeing it because there
is no place they can see or hear whats going on. Just put a site up that
doesn't look pretty for now ant says the status and maybe a some howtos,
links to repositories, and announcements of whats going on.1

Thanks...
