I too only started using linux over the past few years. I first started with
fedora core 3 when a friend gave it to me. But I couldn't really find
anything to do with it and the novelty soon wore off, so I ended up going
back to windows again. Then one day the same friend gave me fedora core 5.
So I tried that, but once again it was fairly dissapointing.... untill I saw
that 11 minute video of compiz that David R posted all that time ago.....

I just had to have it, so I worked out I needed a different distribution for
it to work and installed dapper, which was a few weeks from being released
at that stage. Then after trying and trying and trying, infact I nearly gave
up, I finally got those windows to wobble :D

Then I found the compiz.net forums, where I have since become quite a
dedicated forum user :P
1500 posts on that forum, 1000 posts on beryl-project.org and 5 or so forums
later I'm now moderator on the compiz-fusion.org forums, which my only
official 'contribution' to the project.

Though I also have the flashbsm, which I work on every now and then and hope
one day it will be complete http://delfick755.googlepages.com/flashbsm.zip

Outside of computers, I'm an 18 year old student engineer at curtin
university Western Australia and atm I hope to pursue Software Engineering
(so who knows, in a few years I might even contribute to the project code
wise :D.... (I don't atm because I don't actually know how to program yet,
except for some actionscript))

..... :D
