[FusionComm] Problem with latest compiz-git & compiz-fusion git pkgs

Pardon me if I'm asking this in the wrong place - or even if I'm asking 
the wrong question regardless of place.

I'm a bad boy and like to update my git compiz-fusion installation 
frequently. The most recent compiz update that came upstream required 
xcb for the first time that I know of. compiz git would not let me 
compile without the xcb package, so I dutifully git'ted all the packages 
listed on freedesktop.org for xcb and installed them according to the 
directions.

Now, I can't load compiz and I get an error message:
compiz: xcb_xlib.c:82: xcb_xlib_unlock: Assertion `c->xlib.lock' failed.

What have I done??? I've tried moving back to an older version of compiz 
and recompiling all the compiz-fusion goodies, but to no avail. I still 
get the same error message. Can anyone help?
